The Valverde Denver CO Neighborhood is one of Denver’s oldest neighborhoods. It is in the NW quadrant of the city, also known as the “West Side”. The boundaries are Federal on the west, the South Platte River on the east, 6th Avenue on the north and Alameda to the south.

Homes are mostly from the 1930s and 1940s. You will find both ranch styles and two story homes. There is a nice park, West-Bar-Val-Wood that gives residents access to green space and there is a sports complex in Valverde Park. Easy access to the Platte River bike trail offers riders wonderful views of mountains and the city as well as the ability to be out in a natural habitat.
Residents can walk or bike to local restaurants and shopping is fairly close. Access to downtown is easy and if you go straight out Colfax, you’re in the mountains.
Valverde means “Green Valley” in Spanish. Before becoming a city, there were a number of truck farms in the area that provided produce for residents on the west side of town.
Valverde is a multi-use neighborhood with residential and industrial. The Valverde Elementary school is one of my most favorite buildings. It has so much character and is one of the great landmarks in the area. I think the architecture is wonderful!
