Check out the Neighborhood – Step 5
When you have decided on which properties you feel would best suit your needs, you may be curious about the area.
You can use my website, Buyer’s Best Choice, to check out the neighborhoods and schools. For the other items, Google the neighborhood, you’ll find a wealth of information.
Keep in mind that as we are driving through these areas, you will get a pretty good feel for what they are like. You’ll see the other homes, the condition of the homes, businesses that may be close, churches, schools, etc. If we are looking in transition areas, I’ll make sure we drive around the area so you can get a feel for how the neighborhood is changing. I also like to drive through the alleys if there are any. Many of them are neat and well-kept, others, not so much!
Other data can include things like:
• Neighborhood demographics
• Public and private schools
• Climate reports – Here is a link to The Weather Channel
• Houses of worship
• Comparisons with other neighborhoods that may be of interest to you.
While you are looking at additional data, I will be doing a Comparative Market Analysis that will show you how the house your are interested in compares in price to other that have sold in the neighborhood in the past 90 days. That way you’ll know what the Fair Market Value should be.
I will also show you the property records data which is public record. You’ll see who the owners are, the price they paid, when they bought the home and if there are any odd things you may need to know.
