Be the Expert in Real Estate – Everyone knows you know real estate.
Recommend an Expert in Other Fields – Let everyone know that you do not do inspections, give tax advice, draft complex contract provisions or give legal advice.
Be the Source – If anyone needs to know something about real estate, they call you.
Be the Professional – “S/He is always working for me!” is the reputation you desire.
Be Recognizable – When anyone sees your name or picture, they know you are “the real estate person.” Your business card, website, checks, e-mails, stationery, flyers, postcards – all promotional material – must have your picture.
Be Outgoing – Tell everyone you are in real estate.
Have a Great Memory – People love it when they are remembered by name. Do not expect them to remember you, you remember them.
Always Be There – People list with the last person who talked to them about real estate.
Be the Photographer – Take and send pictures all the time. Pictures of your listings, pictures of yourself, pictures of your sellers outside their home. People love pictures.
Be Computer Literate and Demonstrate – Know how to demonstrate it. People love technology and looking at things that go “WOW!”
Be Persistent and Polite – People may say that they do not want to be bothered, but that is exactly what they want when they are sellers. Supply information or service that they need each time you call.
Be Well-Groomed – You do not need to work in a business suit, but business casual works well. If you are showing property in the mountains, wear hiking boots, jeans, etc. If you are showing homes in Lowry, wear business casual.
